Even after Honor acquired the status of an independent company, HUAWEI continues to provide support for some devices of the former subsidiary brand. The vendor has published a list of gadgets whose owners can count on the emergence of new firmware and current security patches.
HUAWEI representatives noted that almost all Honor smartphones released before April 1, 2021 will receive firmware updates. According to HUAWEI’s general manager of public relations and communications, such devices will receive full software support from the company, including security patches and new firmware versions.
Monthly security updates will be released throughout the life cycle of models:
Honor 20, 20 Pro and View 20. Every quarter, updates will continue to receive
Honor 30, 30 Pro +, 30i, 30S, View 30 Pro, 20e, 20i, 20S, 20 Lite. 10i, 9A, 9C, 9S, 10X, 9X Lite, 9X Pro, 10X Lite, 8A, 8S, and 8A Pro.
In turn, Honor will also try to provide after-sales support for these models. Vendors have not yet announced the possibility of migrating these devices to HarmonyOS 2.0.
