BOE Launched 55-inche 4K Quantum Dot Display

Chinese manufacturer BOE Technology has unveiled the first proprietary display based on quantum dot technology. The 55-inch novelty is notable for its high level of image contrast, and became the brand’s first decision in the AMQLED segment.

The BOE display has a resolution of 3840×2160 pixels. The manufacturer claims coverage of 119% of the NTSC color gamut and a contrast level of 1,000,000: 1. The peculiarity of AMOLED displays is that they do not require forced backlighting, since each independent diode is capable of independently emitting light, operating under a different voltage.

The next-generation matrix also provides long panel life and extended color gamut display. In addition, Quantum Dot TVs do not use a polarizing diffusion substrate, resulting in richer, more realistic colors. The manufacturer will announce the cost and start date of new items later.
