In addition to the new smartphones, OnePlus today unveiled its first smartwatch. Among their features are a high-resolution AMOLED display, tight integration into the company’s ecosystem, and support for fast charging.
OnePlus Watch is made in a classic design with a round case, protected from water according to the IP68 standard. Almost the entire front panel is occupied by a 1.39-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 454×454 pixels, which provides a density of 326 ppi. The screen is covered with a 2.5D glass rounded at the edges.
The watch is controlled using a touch screen and two physical buttons on the side. With a built-in microphone and speaker, you can answer incoming calls. New notifications are notified by means of a linear vibration motor. You can track physical activity during different sports, blood oxygen saturation, sleep quality, height and other parameters.
A 402 mAh battery is responsible for autonomy, providing up to 14 days of operation in normal mode. The possibility of continuous work in exercise tracking mode with GPS turned on for 25 hours is declared. In addition, there is support for fast charging, which allows you to use the gadget for a whole week after 20 minutes at the outlet.
The watch is tightly integrated into the OnePlus ecosystem. For example, when watching a movie on a company’s TV, you can control playback directly from OnePlus Watch. You can also answer an incoming call from the watch, and at this time the video volume will automatically decrease. If the watch detects that the user has fallen asleep, the TV will simply turn off. Plus, you can connect wireless headphones to the OnePlus Watch and listen to music without a smartphone. For this, 4 GB of internal memory is provided, of which 2 GB is allocated for the needs of the owner, which should be enough for about 500 tracks.
OnePlus Watch can be used not only with OnePlus smartphones, but also with other devices running Android 6.0+ or iOS 10+.
The novelty will go on sale on April 14 at a price of 159 dollars or euros, depending on the region. There will also be a special version of the OnePlus Watch Cobalt Limit Edition in a stainless steel case, with a sapphire crystal and a leather strap. The price of this model has not yet been announced.
