The well-known insider Digital Chat Station announced on his blog on Weibo that the announcement of the device will take place in the near future. Information about Redmi’s plans to release its own smartwatch first appeared at the end of last year, when the company’s CEO Liu Weibing asked the fans of the brand if they were expecting such a novelty.
At the beginning of 2020, one of the Chinese regulators certified a gadget with model number HMSH01GE, which was classified as a smartwatch. Running the WearOS operating system, the Redmi Watch is expected to receive all the key features of the Xiaomi Mi Watch, but will cost less due to some design changes. According to the source, the presentation of the first Redmi smartwatches may take place as early as next month along with a new smartphone based on the MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ processor.
