Vivo has repeatedly confirmed that it will introduce OriginOS as a replacement for the proprietary firmware FunTouch OS. Now the smartphone maker has announced the recruitment of a group of users who would like to test the new product before its release.
The first version of Origin OS will be presented in China on November 18, 2020. Now vivo offers to try out the test version of the firmware for users living in the country. Applications will be accepted from 12 to 18 November. It is expected that on November 23, owners of compatible gadgets will be able to install the beta version of the software shell.
One of the main features of Origin OS, according to available information, will be the ability to quickly switch between the proprietary interface and the traditional one offered by Google in the stock version of Android. The firmware is also described as being minimalistic with an emphasis on ease of use.
